The lock and the mobile app are based on NFC technology, which enables secure, close-range data exchange. Once the encrypted digital key and all necessary authorizations have been verified, the lock mechanism opens the door.

Remote opening and closing of NKSecure locks will be available in future updates if a smart home hub (gateway) is available. Currently, locks can be opened in close proximity using NFC technology, a passcode, or a physical key.
